Professional Odor Removal Services in Orange County CA

Reduce and eliminate unwanted odors for a fresh and clean interior

Odor Removal is Different Than an Interior Cleaning

Does your car have an odor that won’t go away? You’ve tried air fresheners, baking soda, and leaving the windows down, but the smell keeps coming back. Odors inside your vehicle are different from standard dirt and grime—they settle deep into fabric, carpets, and vents, making them difficult to remove with regular cleaning.

Bad odors can make driving uncomfortable, whether they come from cigarette smoke, pet accidents, food spills, or mildew buildup. Simply masking the smell will not solve the problem. At Clean n Dip Detailing, we offer professional odor removal services that target and eliminate odors at the source, leaving your vehicle smelling fresh and clean.

What Causes The Odors?

Understanding where odors come from is essential to cleaning and removing them. Some of the most frequent causes include:

Pet Odors: We love our pets, but that means pet hair, dander, and accidents leave behind smells that cling to fabric and seep into hard-to-reach areas.

Tobacco Smoke: Smoke particles settle into carpets, upholstery, and headliners, leaving behind a stubborn smell and a layer of residue on your windshield that can make it difficult to see through.

Food Spills: Dairy, greasy foods, and liquid spills can cause long-lasting odors when left untreated, especially in warm weather.

Mold and Mildew: If moisture gets trapped in your car’s interior, it can lead to mold growth and musty smells that won’t go away with surface cleaning.

Wildfire Smoke: During California wildfire season, smoke and ash can enter your vehicle through vents, open windows, or even air conditioning systems. These particles cling to upholstery and cabin surfaces, leaving behind a persistent burnt smell.

How We Remove Odors from Your Car’s Interior

Unlike DIY solutions that only mask odors, our professional process removes them at the source using specialized tools and techniques. Here is how we do it:

Step 1: Interior Assessment
We begin with a thorough inspection to locate the source of the odor. Whether it is a spill, smoke buildup, or mold, identifying the root cause helps us determine the best treatment method.

Step 2: Deep Vacuuming
We vacuum carpets, seats, mats, and every crevice to remove loose dirt, debris, and pet hair that may be holding onto odors. This is the first step in eliminating the source of the smell rather than just covering it up.

Step 3: Deep Cleaning of Fabric and Surfaces
For fabric seats and carpets, we use shampooing and hot water extraction to remove embedded dirt, bacteria, and odor-causing particles. Leather and plastic surfaces are cleaned with professional-grade products to eliminate residue buildup. If necessary, we use steam cleaning for deeper sanitization.

Step 4: Ozone Treatment
The final step is running an ozone machine, which breaks down and neutralizes odor molecules at a chemical level. This method does not mask odors but eliminates them completely. For stronger odors, multiple treatments may be required. We’d also replace your cabin air filter as there’s a high chance the odor is also trapped in there.

This process is done whether it’s a clean or dirty interior. That’s what separates this from interior cleaning. If there’s an odor in your interior, it means the source of the odor is still there. So even if the interior looks clean, we must give it a thorough deep cleaning.

Will the Odor Be 100% Removed?

In most cases, we see significant improvement, if not complete odor removal. However, this depends on things like the severity of the smell and the condition of the interior.

For extreme cases, replacing certain interior materials like your headliner, carpet, or floor mats may be the best solution to help with the odor. If smoke damage has been building up for years, some materials may be too saturated for cleaning alone to fully eliminate the odor.

That being said, most customers don’t need to replace materials. Our cleaning process can greatly reduce odors, making a noticeable difference in the freshness of your vehicle.

This process can take one to two days to complete. The cleaning process itself takes several hours and ozone treatment requires additional time to run it, air it out, inspect, and rerun it if necessary.
